Many people go undiagnosed and find out at a stage when many other symptoms related to heart disease, nerve damage and vision imbalance emerge in their systems. Some signs that one may have diabetes are a lack of energy, frequent urination and erratic weight loss or weight gain. The exact reasons for diabetes are not clear, but in the modern day, it has been observed to be linked to an unhealthy lifestyle which includes poor nutrition, a lack of exercise and stress. There can also be genetic factors that influences ones predisposition to diabetes but one can definitely prevent diabetes by maintaining a healthy weight, lifestyle & nutrition pattern.

Insulin is one hormone that our body produces to help convert the food that we consume into energy. Essentially, Insulin enables the cells in the body to use energy from glucose (blood sugar) or in other words it helps glucose enter the cells in the body. In prediabetes and type 2 diabetes our body doesn’t produce enough Insulin or our cells become resistant to its action and our pancreas are unable to produce enough insulin to overcome this. Hence, there is a sugar build up in the bloodstream and over time, it can cause damage to the body and lead to many other problems associated with diabetes.
